The most wonderful lacquer clothes this fall
Anyone who doesn’t give a damn about anything, doesn’t take rules seriously. Fortunately the do’s and don’ts in vintage world are less compelling. Actually you can wear ANYTHING you like. Should it be lacquer, you are lucky. After all, LACQUER will be widely available this autumn.
Hair spray and dress shoes
Vintage lovers usually initially link “lacquer” to hair spray, secondly to nail polish. After all, hair spray is indispensable for a 50s style haircut, and a Hollywood-look with bitten nails is not done. Unless you give a damn, of course. Patent leather or Skai is a typical vintage product from the sixties and seventies. Dress shoes must shine, so you must definitely brush them.
Lacquer boots and lacquer accents
Patent leather gives status to pumps and clutches. It looks like leather, yet shines as a mirror. Lacquer boots aren’t suitable for a walk in the forest, but definitely for a night out! By the way, a couple of shining lacquer accents on your cool shoes make them a bit more feminine.
Lacquer catches the eye
This fall you will notice a lot of patent leather details, for example on jackets, lacquer purses and pumps. Dress shoes are shining, polished. You must have guts, but hey you were the one who didn’t give a damn about what other people say about you, weren’t you? Good, cause there is much more!
Patent leather skirts
Patent leather flared skirts from the sixties are extremely gothic. However, you must not combine them with lacquer boots, because people will immediately expect a lash as well. You should combine it with a lovely woolen sweater and felt hat or a blouse made of lovely soft material such as flannel or velvet. Patent leather is cool and smooth, velvet is warm and soft. By combining these two materials you will avoid a too kinky or too soft look!
