Vintage and retro belts
A belt is always practical, even if you have nothing to hold up. Vintage belts catch the eye, a wonderful accessory and asset. There are various types of retro or vintage belts:
- Elastic wide belts
- Small faux leather waistbelts
- Waistbelts with bows
Elastic (waist)belt
The elastic belt was a fantastic invention in the seventies. As it is wide, it emphasizes your waist and as it is elastic, it is pretty comfortable. One size fits all. You don’t have to create extra holes, you simply shift the elastic and fasten it. Elastic belts with sizes are available. Always check which size you need. The wide belt can be combined with a wide skirt or a dress with wide skirt, but with a harem dress or pencil dress as well.
Narrow (waist)belts
If you don’t want to emphasize your waist, you must choose a stylish, narrow, adjustable belt in fifties’ style made of modern materials. No real leather, but you won’t notice it, unless you smell. The clasps are extremely vintage as well; in the shape of a rose. You can hardly tell it is a clasp.
Waistbelts with bows
The belts or waistbelts decorated with bows which remind of the bow tie of the Bunny girls or animation girls from the fifties have an extremely retro look. Its brand, Betty Page, is known for its original and challenging designs. You will definitely catch the eye, even though you don’t wear any retro or vintage clothes at all.
