Wedge oh wedge!
The wedge is so seventies! My mother used to have several pairs and when I was a girl I thought they were much more comfortable and convenient than heels. Besides, they wedges looked more fashionable than platform soles or stiletto heels which were at the bottom of mother’s closet.
The comeback of the wedge
No wonder the wedge is trendy again. Especially women who love vintage will definitely appreciate the wedge. But where does the name come from? If you take a good look at shoes with wedges and you know how an old-fashioned horse-sleigh looks like, you will immediately notice the similarities. The model is named after the sleigh. You shouldn’t associate wedges with making a slip, on the contrary!
Fast on wedges
Wedges are extremely comfortable as you can’t bend the shoes in the middle and, thus, can’t sprain your feet which might happen when walking on stiletto heels. The shoes are much more stable and solid and you won’t easily lose a wedge, which unfortunately might happen with stiletto heels. Do you remember the touching film pictures of a stumbling young lady who finally breaks off her other heel in order to walk somewhat normal. No, wedges won’t let you down!
Retro look wedge
Wedges are usually made of wood or synthetic. Fitted with cork- or stripe print they are so seventies! So, if you wish to pimp up your vintage wardrobe with comfortable, yet fashionable high heels, you should buy a pair of wedges.
